How I chose these mineral sunscreens
I prioritized current mineral formulas with clear active-ingredient labels, broad-spectrum protection, and practical formats for travel or boat life. Water-resistant picks are identified for swimming and sweating; lighter, non-water-resistant formulas belong in the everyday-face category.
Packaging also matters, but “plastic-free” and “zero-waste” claims need context. Aluminum and paperboard can reduce plastic, while bio-resin and recyclable plastic still depend on local disposal systems. The best option is the product you can use correctly and finish completely.
For a beach day, bring shade and UPF clothing too. Sunscreen works best as one layer of sun protection—not the only layer.
