Scuba Diving Swimsuit Elements We Love

The best scuba diving swimsuits need to be more than just cute (which these are!) they also have certain elements I’ve found after hundreds of dives all over the world, make for the best diving experience.

UV Protection: Rather than slathering goopy sunscreen all over your back, shoulders, and neckwhich wash off and might also stain—we want swimsuits that cover those areas and keep you safe from harmful rays.

Shoulder Protection: In addition to UV protection on the shoulders, you also want a phyiscal barrier between your shoulders and the scuba BCD. Without it, you’ll find those straps start to chafe.

Material: The best scuba diving swmsuits are made from sturdy material that can withstand the wear and rubbing from all your gear.

Sustainability: Here at She Seas, I’m all about finding sustainable brands that create adorable products using eco-friendly or recycled materials such as plastic bottles. No fast fashion here. The very best of these brands not only use sustainable materials, they also support non-profits and organizations that protect our planet.

Coverage and adjustable straps: We need our scuba diving swimsuits to pass the wiggle-test! When diving, your assembling gear, putting on and taking off heavy equipment, and generally moving around more than you might if you were just lounging in the sun. We need suits that won’t shift, untie, or move around.

Inclusive Sizing: Scuba diving is a every body sport! I look for swimsuits that offer inclusive sizing so everyone can a fun and comfortable dive.
