Nestled along the southern coast of Grenada, True Blue Bay Resort is the kind of place where you feel at home, but also want for nothing. This charming, family-owned boutique resort offers a unique blend of vibrant Caribbean charm, cozy comfort, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.

After months on the boat, we were ready for a little land time and decided to spend a weekend at True Blue Bay Resort in True Blue Bay, right next to the cruiser’s hub of Prickly Bay.

It was so close, we actually left our boat anchored in Prickly Bay and dinghied over to True Blue, and we were able to leave our dinghy at their dock over the weekend.

A Colorful Oasis with Authentic Caribbean Vibes

True Blue Bay Resort is an explosion of color and character. The resort’s architecture is a delightful mix of traditional Caribbean style and modern flair, with brightly painted buildings, lush tropical gardens, and whimsical decor that create a fun and lively atmosphere. Every corner of the resort is filled with charm, from the quirky artwork to the handcrafted furniture, giving you plenty of Instagram-worthy spots to capture your island adventure.

But it’s not just the aesthetics that make this resort special—it’s the vibe. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family, offering a level of hospitality that’s both genuine and heartwarming. You’ll quickly find that the resort’s laid-back, friendly atmosphere is contagious, making it easy to slip into “island time” and truly relax.

One of the highlights of staying at True Blue Bay is waking up to stunning views of the bay or the lush gardens. Many of the rooms have private balconies or patios where you can enjoy your morning coffee while soaking in the tranquil surroundings. But a real highlight for me was their eco-friendly options, including solar-powered accommodations and water-saving features, so you can enjoy your stay knowing you’re not damaging the beautiful world around you.

To unwind after a day of adventures, the resort’s spa offers a variety of treatments designed to pamper and rejuvenate. Or, if you’d rather relax by the water, you can lounge by one of the resort’s two swimming pools or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the bay.

Make Memories at the Tiki Bar

We had so much fun at sunset heading down to the tiki bar and ordering a couple cocktails, meeting other guests and hearing their stories. The bartender had a couple pretty wild stories too and may regale you if he’s so inclined. Just be wary if he brings out shots of the secret triple proof Grenadian rum. It’s a killer! 

Delicious Dining at Dodgy Dock

The atmosphere at Dodgy Dock Restaurant is as vibrant as the food, with live music and entertainment adding to the fun, lively vibe. Don’t miss their themed nights, like Mexican Mondays or Grenadian BBQ Fridays, where you can savor the flavors of the Caribbean while enjoying the company of fellow travelers.

The duck with sweet potato and the green tea cake dessert were literally—chef’s kiss.
